Good Tips from the blogger below!!

sunflowerheart:

Anyone who knows me, knows that I take special care of my hair and it shows! I get numerous compliments, even from men! 😉

A lot of people are shocked when I tell them I don’t go to a salon. I’ve only been 3 times in my life.. I don’t have the patience!! I do, however go routinely to get my ends clipped at Super Cuts.

SO here’s my routine!!

  • I wash and condition with Pantene Pro V products. My new fave is the Nature Fusion. I get a ton of moisture and my hair feels amazingly soft afterwards. I realize many hairdressers will steer you away from Pantene, but my hair has never broken off/ dried out in the 7+ years I’ve been using their line!
  • I put in a leave in conditioner: Parnevu and a heat protectant before I decide to blow-dry my hair. Currently, I am using Smooth N Shine: Silk Fusion. The results definitely live up to the name!
  • After sectioning off and blow-drying with an attached comb, I put in Ion’s Flat Iron Cream. It has definitely reduced the amount of split ends I end up with after flat ironing. I’ve been using my Solia flat iron since 2006 and I am still in love!!
  • I’ve gone natural since 2009, so humid days were definitely a fear of mine! But, I discovered that Garnier Fructis’ Anti-Humidity Smoothing Milk works wonders for my hair! It worked, even in the humidity of New Orleans. I normally apply after I’ve straightened..

When I want a ton of volume, I will straighten and curl my hair in sections, with my flat iron and wrap it over night with a silk scarf.

Prices: All of the products are below $10.00, in drugstores, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.. The flat iron cream is found at Sally’s Beauty Supply and the Solia is about $80.00 Clearly, I save a TON of money on my hair! =)
