Sure we all want to be more green, but do we know what these terms really mean? Here is the breakdown:

1. Sustainable: This label applies when an item is produced in ways that minimize its environmental impact, whether it’s made in a solar-powered factory or uses renewable resources or biodegradable packaging.

2. Naturally Derived: It’s a term used for a product whose raw materials come from a natural source, such as botanicals and fruit extracts, but have been chemically altered to make the formulation.

3. Natural: A formula that is primarily made up of natural ingredients and contains no petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, or dyes. Any parabens or sulfates that might be in it are naturally derived.

4. Organic: The official USDA certification is given to products made from natural ingredients that have been gown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides.
