Braid It Up

by

here’s just something so sweet and edgy about braids and cornrows. I’ve been in a total rut with my hair lately. I just wish there was more that I could do with it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s easy to do and I love my fro, but I miss a little dose of versatility from time to time.

Searching these hair images made me want to schedule an appointment for a sew-in stat, but that would only amuse me for a month or so … le sigh. Braids aren’t anything new to rock for summer, but when complimented with the right fit and attitude, you can channel your inner 90’s bad ass (or girl next door) with a quickness.

You can easily add a leather wrap to your braid or sassy metal head chain to spice up each of these styles and make them really unique. With your hair pulled back, the focus will be on your pretty face, so give these people something to look at! Swipe on a bold pout and defined brows and you should be out the door ready to conquer the day in effortless style.

Which one of these looks are your favorite? And for my natural girlies, how do you rock your braids? A sista needs a little assistance πŸ˜‰

I used to love having my hair braided because it meant you could go a week or two without having to style your hair every single morning (I miss those lazy days lol). Great post!

I am natural and I’ve been rocking the halo braid lately. I use a braid out to create the look because it adds texture to the look. You can check it out on my IG: ShalandaLeigh

I go through styles too. From sew in braids etc. I like the extension dreads . Your style works with about everything.

What do you think?
