I JUST recently started wearing my hair out natural…curly…whatever you would like to call it 🙂 At first I was very self-conscious, because I’ve had a relaxer for over 15 years and to get that “natural” look I would have to braid my hair for the crinkly effect that unfortunately only lasted a day. But in addition to wearing my hair natural, I’ve also colored it blonde…for the summer. I was feeling bold & wanted something new…and hair will grow back so it’s not a big deal! It’s really grown on me and while I’m still on the hunt for products I can call “the one (s)”, I’m having fun experimenting with the different products I’ve been using thus far. Here’s what’s been working for me…as of now…I’m sure it will change over time 🙂

Carols Daughter Hair Milk : $20

So I’ve been recommended this product from many natural hair chickas…and so far I like it. It definitely moisturizes my hair and keeps it soft. My only gripe is because I have to restyle my hair everyday, I’m sure I’m about to run out of this $20 bottle quickly! So I need to find something else to use that will last me a little bit longer. Unless someone is trying to hook a sista up with this product in bulk 🙂

Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding : $38

Ohhh Miss Jessie’s…this is ALL I ever heard about in college from those of my friends who were natural. So I actually stumbled up on this product in a goodie bag from an event I went to a few months back. I’ve been using it and here’s what I’ve noticed…and I only have the Hair Milk to compare it to. I love the smell….I’m walking around all day and my hair smells like grapes 🙂 But it is very thick and has made my curls kinda crunchy, when I’m realizing I like them to feel softer. So I’m still on the fence with the curly pudding … maybe I need to try another Miss Jessie product from the line before I can make a final decision.

I would love to hear your suggestions on what has worked for you as well as what hasn’t! What do you think I should try next?? What styling methods have worked for you??
