I‘ve been on the search for some fresh colors for Spring. Dermelect sent over some new pastel shades from their “Me” All Decked Out Spring/Summer collection and they are gorgy!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know all about my recent nail woes and having problems with them breaking at the sides. Natural nails are great, but they definitely have their challenges when it comes to keeping them strong as you grow them out. I had them at the perfect almond length, and BAM, my index finger cracked and broke right on off. Le sigh. So I had to decide whether to let the nail grow back out or just cut them all back down. Unfortunately I was forced to do the latter of the options. Back to square one.
But let’s get back to these pastel shades shall we? Here’s the scoop on their ‘ME’ nail lacquers, they are the first peptide-infused, anti-aging color treatment polishes. They are said to do the following:
-strengthen weak, brittle nails
-restore flexibility
-help resist chipping and splitting
-water and detergent resistant
-UV protected
-DBP, Toluene & Formaldehyde free. And cruelty free (no animal testing)
The shades pictured below from the spring/summer collection are (L to R) “Lazy Daze”, “Dune My Thing”, “A Shore Thing”, and “Fant-A-Sea”. Cute names right? What I love about this formula is that it’s creamy and opaque so you only need two coats for great pigmented color.
When it comes to at home nail jobs, you can’t forget about your nail care. It is always necessary even if you routinely get your nails done at the salon. You want to be sure you are taking proper care of them at home as well.
Their Revital-Oil and Cuticle Treatment is said to strengthen your nails to grow long and strong, condition the nail bed, and restore ragged cuticles. I’ve been using it daily along with a thick moisturizing lotion before I go to sleep and after I wash my hands. I also used their Memento Manicure extender top coat. It’s said to extend polish wear up to 7-9 days, dries in minutes, leaves a high gloss, mirror-like shine, and has the durability of a gel.
Overall I’ve really been enjoying the products. This week I’ve been wearing the pastel yellow Lazy Daze shade and I love it! Surprisingly enough, with all the nail polish in my massive collection, I don’t have this particular shade lol. Even if I did, a girl can never have too many polish color options right?
The polishes are a little on the pricey end at $14 a pop, but with all the benefits that come along with it, I would say it’s worth the splurge. You can check out more products from their line on their site.
What do you think about the color? And thank you to everyone on the gram who offered all of your tips and tricks to prevent breakage! Keep em coming!
