We are all aware of the importance of the LBD (aka “Little Black Dress”). The LBD can take you from the outdoor day-party to the chic cocktail evening fiesta. It’s really all about the material.
On a recent trip to France, I wanted to fit the scene and dress accordingly. When you think French countryside, you think light materials like linen, flowy dresses and skirts, eyelet cutouts, and effortless easy breezy style. It’s no secret that I love black, so when I stumbled up on this little chic black number at (surprise) Forever 21, I had to have it.
It hit right below the knee, had a straight square necklace, with straps just thick enough to hide my bra but also gave me the option not to wear one at all. The linen-blend material was breathable on the body, it came with a matching belt, and came complete with the cutest tortoise shell buttons adorned from top to bottom. I decided to nix the matching belt and go for a thick vintage black and tan tweed material belt I scored from a thrift store years ago. Perfect match.
With a dress like this, you feel chic and ladylike. I completed my countryside day time LBD look with a pair of black cat eye sunglasses and leopard sandals, careful not to compete or steal the shine from the dress.
I gathered quite a few options together for you. The great thing is that online summer sales are still in full effect, and a lot of these dresses were included in the mix. Don’t you love a great deal?
